    PAWTUCKET - Making a new friend is filled with difficulties. For a Toledo Avenue man, the effort left him bleeding and without a car. The man’s neighbors called police at 2:20 a.m. Saturday, telling police dispatchers that they could hear the unmistakeable sounds of fight coming from the man’s home.

    Group hopes wreckage sends message (Paris News)

    Amber Menefee’s memory lives on with a message for others. The 21-year old Texas Tech University student died in February 2006 when the vehicle she was driving was struck head-on on Loop 286 in Lubbock. The underage driver of the sport utility vehicle that struck Amber’s car was drunk, lawmen said.

    Empty Police Cars Are Scary (New York Press)

    Wow, the city’s finest really are low on manpower. Apparently, the NYPD is using unmanned cop cars to scare speeders on major highways. Patrolmen’s Benevolent Association President Patrick Lynch wisely pointed out, “You cannot train an unmanned radio car to fight terrorism.”

    Left dashboard light went out. Radio display doesn’t light up consistently. After driving this car for 35000 miles, there has been little to no upkeep on this car except to change the oil every 5000 or so miles and to change the shocks and brakes.
